  1.                          Anorectal Abscess
  2. SYMPTOMS. There is red swelling in the anal area that makes sitting, walking
  3. and defecation painful.
  4. CAUSES. It may be associated with an anal fissure, start as an infection of
  5. the anal or rectal glands, or be associated with an intestinal disease such
  6. as ulcerative colitis or regional enteritis.
  7. TREATMENT. Incision and drainage is required. Prescribed antibiotics.
